Frequently Asked Questions

What is group art therapy and what is the first step?

Group art therapy is a dedicated space to work on interpersonal issues with other people who have that intention. If you are interested in joining a group, please send me an email for more information.

How long do groups last?

After the art therapy group interview, you will commit to 10-12 weeks of weekly art therapy group lasting 70 minutes.

How many people are in a typical group?

Usually 5-10 people with various backgrounds but the same intention as you.

What am I going to get out of this?

Members say that they feel less alone, more connected, calm, and better able to face tough times. I work with members to cultivate skills and resources, expand views of a situation, and help you to find ways to live the life you want. I will explore your inner and outer experiences, relationships, images, and work toward your goals.

Do I accept insurance?

I do not.  I am an out of network provider for all insurers. If you contact your insurance company, you can ask if they reimburse "out of network" mental health services.  Even if you do not have out of network mental health coverage, you may be able to count payment for your sessions toward your deductible. I can provide a diagnostic receipt (often called a Super Bill) to file with your insurance company to ensure you receive any benefits that are available to you.

Paying out of pocket?

I accept American Express, Discover, Mastercard, Visa (including FSA/HSA debit cards), Zelle or Venmo for services.
